Richard Lasner is an award-winning photographer who exhibits Iris Prints and photographs. He specializes in images of Italy and baseball. His works have been published in seven books and collected in three museums and by the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. His work has been shown in DC, NY, MA, PA, ID, DE as well as at Creative Partners Gallery.
Lately, he has been concentrating on limited editions of his Iris Prints of Italy. These are crafted through the micro-fine spraying of archival watercolor dyes onto textured watercolor paper. The result is a long-lasting, deeply color saturated and warmly toned image that often has the qualities of a watercolor painting. His work has been recommended by the Instituto Italiano di Cultura in Washington, which is the cultural office of the Italian Embassy.
He is also well known for his baseball photographs, including those of Cal Ripken's consecutive game streak and the historic game between the Baltimore Orioles and the Cuban All-Star team in Havana in March 1999. Approximately 1,000 of his photographs are in the permanent collection of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, NY.
