Janet Long is a silversmith. She has a B.S. in Art
Education, a degree from the N. Bennet Street Industrial
School in Boston for jewelry making and graduate classes in
metal smithing from U. of MD, Virginia and Montgomery
College. She is currently a member of the Washington
Goldsmith Guild and her work has appeared in their biennial
shows. She uses a variety of techniques for jewelry
fabrication including repousse and hydraulic press. She uses
such decorative techniques as Kumboo, oxidation and stone
settings.
