In the thirty years that I have worked on mobiles, I have always been fascinated to see how a mobile will gently taunt the mind. They seem to be saying "You see me, but you don't understand how I work." Even when I envision how to construct a mobile, the end result is often more than I am prepared for.

Each one is different, and each one has its own way of moving. The mobiles seem to have a life of their own, despite being inanimate. They defy my sense of logic and balance. When I push the limit to see what will happen, I discover I have redefined the limit.
