Waverly Street Gallery presents On the Road Again, a collection of dynamic figurative and automotive oil paintings. Chip Cecil’s paintings take a step back in time to the days when chrome was not just metal but a way of looking at the world around us; when the automobile was about the way we lived and the times in which we lived.

Chip's depiction of the figure in nature is also about the way we live; hanging laundry on a windy day, floating in a sparkling pool or lying in a pile of brilliantly colored autumn leaves. His figures evoke a feeling that is casual and carefree.

Chip enjoys working on large canvases, emphasizing detail and realism. As an instructor at the Yellow Barn Studio in Glen Echo, Maryland, he explores these themes in such courses as "The Art of Realism" and "Painting from a Photo".
