Grace Peterson’s desire to create art has existed since childhood. She painted primarliy in oils and then turned to stained glass for many years, designing and fabricating windows,
art panels and lamps. Later in life, she received a degree in Studio Art from Montgomery College where she was introduced to watercolor and found herself intrigued by the medium.

Various classes and workshops have expanded her techniques and her work has reached beyond the realm of traditional watercolors. Her current images are an expression of her responses to nature through experimental watermedia. Grace considers painting the subject of her work and nature as her inspiration.

Grace uses various types of water-based pigments which may include watercolor, gouache, Tech inks, acrylic inks and fluid acrylics. Experiments with different painting
surfaces and mediums provide a variety of textures which appear in her recent works.
She is a member of various art leagues in the DC-Metro area as well as the International Society of Experimental Artists. Grace’s work has appeared in many juried shows and is
owned by private collectors.
As Grace says, "Painting is my work ... my pleasure ... my passion."
